This is very interesting because to me it looks like melding of different cultures. The girl looks almost Latvian, the birds are like souls from Indonesia. I'm not saying they are mind you, but I love the juxtaposition of different elements like this.

Andrew, the face started as a sketch of a russian doll and I wanted to do the birds following a bit the line of Jankovics'Fehérlófia (an wonderful animation I recommend to everyone, it's a "must see")...then I was watching some images of peruvian retablos to do another drawing but I guess some of it ended in the sketch too...so you are totally right it's a mix of elements from different places.

Veo que con un solo color te manejas muy bien, porque tus trabajos en negro eran muy buenos, y ahora veo este, casi totalmente en sepia y también es muy bueno. felicitaciones!!!
(Acerca de los animales al volante, sí la idees así, resulta que donde yo vivo, suele haber animales sueltos. pero también muchas personas que creen que porque es un lugar solitario pueden apretar el acelerador cuanto quieran, entonces el mensaje es doble.)
